ARTWORK GUIDELINES >

Setting Up Your Artwork

Setting your artwork and page size
correctly is very important to avoid
your print job not looking quite as
you had imagined

When starting to set up your artwork
remember to add\an extra 3mm to
each edge. This is called bleed.

We need this extra to enable us to
trim your print down to your
required
size.

Safety Area

We also ask that you also make sure
that any important information be
kept at least 4mm in from the trim
edge. 10mm for posters.

We call this the safety area. This will
ensure nothing important is cut off
during the guillotine process.

Bleed Area

Any images which are on the edge of
your design should run past the trim
area and the breed area.

above points, please contact us :

HINTS FOR PRODUCING ARTWORK FOR OUR PRINTERS >

Where possible we would prefer print ready PDF Documents. We can accept most major file formats although
any files that need converting for print could incure a handling charge for us to produce a print ready file format

Layers & Transparency Effects
Files using these can cause problems if not supplied correctly.
The Transparency Flattener preset should be set to high resolution and in Illustrator the Raster Effects settings are set towards vector.

Overprint
Items set to overprint in Illustrator, Quark InDesign ect, will not knock out of the background and will not print as expected. In the case of white objects / text will not be visible at all. Black will usually by default be set to overprint. Where possible try set text / objects to knockout

Gradients
Gradients or Vignettes where possible should be avoided as they can be difficult to print and can produce a banding effect on your print.

More help on producing gradients on your artwork can be found by clicking on this link - Adobe Help >

Folds & Creases
If your print requires a fold, you should try and avoid placing design elements that run along the edge of the
fold. As with all digital print there will be a tolerance for movement.
